A Taste of Mexico

There are typically a few key memories of a trip that are true stand-outs. Those experiences you keep coming back to when the suitcases are unpacked and you longingly wish for a return to paradise. For several friends and I who visited Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, in Punta Mita, MX, we have not quit talking about the Mango Margs! I’m sure the endless sunny days where your only decision is which beautiful pool or beach to park yourself at plays into our longing for a return, but really it was enjoying these frozen delights day in and day out. These friends happen to also work in the travel industry and since we’re grounded for the time being they recently paid a visit to our lake house. What’s a gal to do while reminiscing about travels of days gone by? Why, create your own Mango Margs and grab a seat on the dock to enjoy! If you’re a fan of a little heat, the smokiness of the Tajin rim combined with the sweetness of the mango is a must.

Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita Inspired Mango Margaritas

  • 1/2 cup orange juice

  • 1/2 cup tequila (Cazadores Reposado is my preference)

  • 3 cups frozen mango chunks

  • 1 cup ice (as needed)

  • Tajin or Salt

  • Limes

Combine your orange juice, tequila, mangoes, and ice in a blender. Adjust quantities for your desired consistency. Rim your glass with lime and your choice of either Tajin or salt. Enjoy!

    Prepares Approximately 6 servings.

As summer winds down, beat the heat and treat yourself. Gather some fun glassware and let’s bid adios to Summer 2020! And if you’re lucky enough to pay a visit to the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita sometime, slip into the Nuna infinity pool and when the amphibious server makes an appearance, you’ll be certain of what to order.
